Object 038 in motion.
Observatory 380 draws inspiration from the aesthetics of early electronic devices to define its unique look and feel within the realm of deep space exploration. Its design evokes a sense of nostalgia for the sleek, minimalist designs of early electronics, combining retro-futuristic elements with modern functionality.

Front and Rear view of the Observatory.

A brief showcase of the Observatory construction process. Base is supported by hydraulic system which could lower the upper dome when needed. Middle section includes the main entrance and operating platform.

Numerous systems has to be designed around the dome, crew entrance, retractable entrance access platform, ceramic heat tiles for hard protection, and heat sink.

On top of materials made in previous projects, on the left hand side I have added a few new materials such as the superheated metal used for heatsink and metal coated insulation fabric for decoration purposes.

The glass dome is inspired by the shape and material of radio tubes widely used in the 1930s.

Sketch explorations for scene composition and lighting.

Thank you for watching.
